IN 2018, MICAH HOUSE SERVED 970 HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS.

  • 54% were children — 521 children

  • 59% of clients served were from Nebraska, with the majority coming from the Omaha Metro Area

  • 35% of clients served were from Iowa, with the majority from the Council Bluffs area


2018 ACES RESponses

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences that an individual experiences before the age of 18. The higher the ACEs score, the greater the risk for homelessness, negative health outcomes, and death.

  • 54% reported substance abuse

  • 38% identified mental illness or suicide in the home

  • 47% experienced physical abuse

  • 39% experienced sexual abuse

  • 55% experienced emotional abuse

  • 32% witnessed domestic violence


2018 Impact

  • 24,148 nights of shelter were provided

  • 26,091 nutritious meals were served

  • 88% of adults felt better about themselves
