This Giving Season, Help This Mom Provide A Safe Home For Her Children

Tamia wants is to be her best self for her Boys.

When Tamia arrived at MICAH House this summer with baby son Zion on her hip, she was worried and anxious. She lost her apartment when she left it abandoned for two months as she visited her 5-year-old son Zander in Mississippi.

Tamia’s Childhood was full of chaos & Pain.

Her mother was mentally unstable and abused drugs. Tamia spent most of her childhood in and out of foster homes, where she experienced sexual, physical, and mental abuse. When given our assessment for childhood trauma, Tamia’s results were 125% higher than our average client scores. She is hyper-aware of protecting her children. Her past experiences flare up as PTSD episodes, paranoia, and anxiety.

Tamia needs your help to get her children the services they need.

Her youngest son Zion’s tests reveal at 10 months, he is functioning developmentally and emotionally at the level of a 3 month old. Tamia’s 5 year-old son, reunited with her, was recently given an autism diagnosis and is not fully potty-trained.

Tamia has lived in fear all her life. But she doesn’t have to. You can provide hope.

Tamia holds her happy baby high in the air.

Do you think Tamia is broken beyond repair? Imagine how her life will change if you believe in her. It is not fair what happened to her growing up. Her children deserve more. Her biggest wish is to give them a better life than she had. She participates in our wellness programs and wants to be stable and healthy.
