Volunteer
MICAH House volunteers are the foundation of our organization. Their benevolent involvement plays a vital role in the operations of the shelter. We are indebted to all who contribute their time and effort to the MICAH House, allowing us to continue to effectively serve the community.
The MICAH House’s move to the Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus at the end of this summer will allow us to serve a larger homeless population. This, in turn, requires a larger volunteer base to ensure our ability to fulfill our mission. We will need volunteers to help with duties already allocated to volunteers as well as fill completely new service positions. As our move date approaches, we hope to have attracted a large group of devoted volunteers who are intent on making the MICAH House mission a reality.
Volunteers of MICAH House do everything from cook meals to cleaning the shelter to organizing activities with the children. There are a multitude of ways to contribute to MICAH House. Individuals can volunteer for special projects, on a short-term or long-term basis, and for specific events. Also, if members of the community have ideas on ways to assist the shelter and/or guests, we encourage them to let us know. Scheduling is flexible and focused on convenience for the volunteer. We would enjoy having you come and volunteer at the MICAH House!
